Ad-hoc project

A walk-in interview will be held on 22nd May 2017 at 10:00 am at National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR), Second Main Road, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Ayapakkam, Near Ambattur, Chennai 600 077, to fill up the following post on consolidated salary, under the ad-hoc project as detailed below. Candidates, who fulfil the requisite qualifications and other eligibility criteria, may appear for the walk-in interview. Candidates should submit application in the prescribed form along with self attested copies of certificates as proofs of educational qualification, date of birth, working experiences and reservation category (OBC). Name of the Project: Evaluation of Clinical Diagnostic criteria and improving clinical Diagnostic Algorithm of Leptospirosis in a Leptospirosis hotspot in Kerala
Name of the Post: Laboratory Technician-III

SALARY: Rs.18,000/- per month (consolidated)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Essential Qualification/experience:
12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organisation or two years field/laboratory experience* in Government recognized organisation
*B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years' experience
Desirable experience/skills:
Working experience in Bacteriology
Experience in working in health/biomedical research organizations
Knowledge of Computer Applications
Age limit: 30 years

Posting and nature of duties:

The selected candidate shall be posted at RMRC-NIE Leptospirosis Reference Unit at National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR), Second Main Road, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Ayapakkam, Near Ambattur, Chennai 600 077.

The incumbent in the post may also have to work in the field in different districts of Kerala where the project will be carried out. He/she may also have to work at Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Port Blair as per the requirements of the project.

The incumbent will be imparted 2-3 weeks’ training in laboratory methods in leptospirosis at Regional Medical Research Centre, Port Blair immediately on appointment.

The duties include performing laboratory procedures on samples obtained as part of the project, carrying out other microbiology/serology work at Leptospirosis Reference Unit related to the project, maintenance of records, entry of laboratory data into computer systems, summarizing laboratory data and any other incidental work related to the project in the laboratory and field.
