Projects Undertaken
- Control of Bancroftian filariasis in villages of Tamil Nadu by integration of vector control with chemotherapy (Co-Investigator) -1995-1998 (TDR-WHO funded)
- Studies on filariasis elimination as implemented by the Government agencies in two revenue blocks of Tamil Nadu (Co-Investigator) – 2000-2009&from 2010-2011 (as Principal investigator) (TDR-WHO funded)
- Prevalence of Wolbachia infection in the lymphatic filariasis vector Culex quinquefasciatus in Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu state, India (as Principal Investigator)- 2007-2008(DST funded)
- Assessment of the added impact of vector control for augmentation of MDA to eliminate lymphatic filariasis in South India (as Principal Investigator) -2008-2012(Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded through RCC-ELF grant)
PROJECT REVIEW MEETINGS
- Participated in the Expert Group meeting on Lymphatic Filariasis on 21st and 22nd February 2004 at Hotel Tamil Nadu, Madurai.
- Participated in the informal consultation meeting of Expert Group members on Lymphatic Filariasis on 24th and 25th February 2004 at Tuberculosis Research Centre, Chennai to review the research carried out on filariasis by the CRME under WHO/TDR project.
- Participated in the “Expert group meeting on the role of vector control in the elimination of lymphatic filariasis” at Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu on 17th March 2006.
